With the first phase of voting over, the gathbandhan in UP appears confident that its decision to leave Congress out has deprived PM Modi of an easy target and allowed it to localise the campaign, which does not suit the saffron strategy. The combine of SP, BSP and RLD has managed to work out a seamless joint campaign, bringing in positive feedback.
